Recently laid off from tech? Want to talk to others in your shoes? Join the Waitlist

The tech layoff club curates 1:1 coffee chats with workers that were recently laid off from tech jobs. The transition between a busy day full of meetings to pure silence could be daunting for some. We're here to fix that.

About the founder

Recently laid off from a series B tech startup. 10 years in marketing and never expected to be here. The company has been struggling, losing deals to AI and was forced to restructure multiple times.

After countless rejections, trying to start side businesses, it all started getting kind of lonely. Was also shy to reach out to people on LinkedIn to share experiences.

I wanted to create a community where people with similar experiences could speak to one another, human to human whilst going through a transitionary period.

What this is not

Not a job board. Job leads may come up in conversation, and that is fine, but nobody is here to pitch you.

Not a networking event. No name tags, no elevator pitches, no crowd to work.

Not a giant group chat. Two people, one conversation. Small groups may come later, only if members ask for them.

Anonymise by default

Use a nickname if you want. We ask for your LinkedIn to verify your background. There is no public profile and nothing gets posted anywhere. Your match only sees what you choose to share with them.

A nickname is fine.

The first matches are being made by hand, in small batches. No spam, ever.

Request received. We're still building a waitlist to ensure people get matched with someone.

Started by someone who was laid off too. This is the thing I went looking for and could not find.
